Bear in mind they need super unleaded, which is £105-£110 a litre, they cost £220 a year to tax, and eat tyres at £180 for two...

I had a 172 @ 17. It sounds a laugh and year your mates will think its cool for about 10 mins but it isn't worth it. The 106 gti i had at 19 was just as much fun and about 1/10 of the insurance cost.

What im doin all though 1.2 8v to a 1.6 16v is aa rather large jump but ive been driving a 1.4 everynow and then.....

going straight to a sport sounds great in your head but youll no doubt find out the hard way thats its a bad idea after your only past for a year or so when y ou ram it into a wall

Im looking at insuring my 1.2-2.0ltr conversion next year when im 18. I dont see the problem to be honest as if my parents didnt think i was sensible enough i know for a fact my dad wouldnt be helping getting this engine running like he is.

I know some people that i would'nt like to see driving a 1.4 nevermind a 2.0, if you are one of those type of people i wouldnt bother as you will end up in a ditch.

When i got the RSi my dad noticed it, then i checked my 1.2 and it also says super unleaded lol, problem is nearest place to me that sells S/U is about 15 miles away.
