182 4k Rattle

I know this has been posted up before but cant find it.



ive done 4k now and i do have a few rattles, which one is the main 4k rattle and how do i fix it. (whats the common one)

sounds like its coming from the back of the car

the 4k rattle is where the heatshield on the zorst rattles at 4000rpm

if you have it youll notice it as you accelerate then back off and the revs fall back past 4000 there will be a buzzing resonating sound

I would have thought the 182 would not suffer from the 4k rattle (new system). The 4k rattle, if you have it, you cant miss it. Had a noise check for a trackday, I was at 86db at 4500rpm and 94db at 4000rpm!

But as said, comes from the exhaust and really makes noise, goes as soon as you go past 4k.

Talking of rattles etc, my bleedin car has just developed that knocking sound on over run in first and second gear!!! Took 800 miles for it start but its here now!!!

yup, reno are incapable of fixing that,

4k rattle doesnt refer to mileage, its the exhaust rattling at 4000rpm.

Ive got so many rattles, knocking noises, squeaks etc that im going deaf from having to have the stereo permanatly on volume 20.

182 has EXACTLY the same center section BOX as the 172.

My mk1 phase 3 also suffers from the 4k weird noise and cant find the right part just shows renaults dont change!
