my abs light came on when my pads needed changing ??

is it just the ABS light?

is the esp light on aswell or just abs? is the light on after 3 secs of turning the ignition on or only when the car goes above 7mph?

the only thing as youve been in that area would be steering wheel angle sensor but what the fault would be i do not know without putting a diagnostic on it.....other wise it is just a fluke that the abs/esp light is on and the computer is picking up a circuit fault.

ESP and ABS could well be the brake light switch adjustment
Ive had the same problem with my Trophy. The Airbag light, SERV light, ESP light came on the dash when i changed my steering wheel for a Momo. I put 2 x 3.3 ohm resistor in the air bag green and orange connections that fit to the airbag on the standard steering wheel, this took the Airbag light out.
2 days lata the ABS Dash light was also illuminated permantently from starting the car it was always on, this is apparently because the cruise control has been disconnected and the cruise control uses the cars brakes to keep the car at one speed. Ie if you set the cruise at 70mph the car will sit at 70 mph on the flat but accelerate up a hill to keep it at 70 mph. Therefore it will also brake the car when going down a hill to keep it at 70mph and not let it go over 70mph.
This is why the brake ABS light is on my dash it dosent mean there is a fault or problems with the ABS it is just illuminating this light as it notices a fault as it now has a broken circuit as the Cruise Control has been disconnected.
Just to prove this i reinstalled the standard steering wheel and all dash light went out when all connectors were plugged back in to where they were sopost to be.
