182 auto relock

Im sure ive read somewhere that the 182s will relock them selves, after a period of inactivity, after they have been unlocked. My 182 seems to do this but not all the time. I cant remember where i read it now but i am wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

It will sometimes sit there for 2hrs unlocked while i wash it etc.. (without the keys in the ignition) and then other times it will relock itself after about 20secs??

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

If you unlock the car but then fail to get in it relocks.

If u open a door at any point it stops this process.

this is also the same for 172s

its the same for all CAT1 alarm/immobilizers !! part of the standard AFAIK

its part of the thatchem requirment. if its unlocked and a door is not opened etc it will relock itself. its due to using radio frequencey plips due to their increased operating range.
