182 brakes / abs

  Renault Clio 182
Good evening, I'm after some advice if possible, I've got an intermittent problem when braking with the abs coming on, I've had the abs pump replaced, brake calipers all done but still get it occasionally when braking. What else could be causing this? Thanks guys!

my faulty rear ABS sensor causes it to come in under 5mph when slowing on the brakes to a junction etc - doesn't bring on the ABS light but when you check the live data you see the reading dropping out under 5mph - so the car just thinks its locking up rather than a fault.

Thank you to all above, after a quick YouTube video (and recommended 44 teeth ring from Amazon), found my driver side ABS ring was not really that toothy or a ring (was cracked). So after a couple of hours wrestling with the corroded bolts and drive shaft and a large hammer, the offending part was off and the new one eased into place. Job done no more ABS false operating.

I'd recommend getting some 'Rocket TT' penetrating oil (Better than WD40 in my opinion) and a long breaker bar + a 30mm Impact socket for the hub nut...

Plus to hold in place the drive shaft whilst trying to remove the hub from it, I used a pair of mole grips and two quick clamps to lock it to the body and lower arm.

I also noticed, the passenger side one was twice as wide as my drivers side one, is that standard (and if so what were Renault thinking!).
