For a car engined westfield I'd definitely have at least 170bhp - even though less power will feel quick in lower gears, the car's have the aerodynamics of a brick, so power is needed at 80+ to keep the acceleration rapid.

Zetec's are popular, although a Duratec would be nicer

The Clio is very formidable as you well know.... shame it was made of swiss cheese!

RWD cars are all best for the track and driver progression.

You can pickup a cheap S1 Elise or VX220 under 11k. If you have the room go for a Caterham or Westie
