Its not the motor spline failing to grip is it?
Means that you cant turn it down.
Thats the thing that first brought me to cliosport, our car did it when we first got it.

Not going to be of much help but I had this when I switched my climate control panel to one i bought off eBay.
Always have mine set at 22C and it would make the car stupidly hot inside, even 17C would be really hot, but min cold.
Put the old one back in and it was fine.
Very odd...
