182 Cup badges - another question (sorry)

Those of you with a 182Cup that has the door badges, could you please decribe them for me? I initially thought they were raised chrome effect plastic, but my dealer is telling me they are essentially just silver stickers. Is this correct?

I dont mind either way, its just that I seem to recall a close-up picture indicating they were the former. A close-up snap of you Cup badge would be even better.

Cheers

Edit : Maybe Renault wanted to make them lighter :p

That picture was of an early one stuck on Jeremys V6 last year. I took it before we headed over to Spa.

they dont look as raised as the 172 cup badges, it certainly looks more like a sticker than a badge.

i wasnt even sure were it came from, i got it when the uploader went down and i got my files back and that was there ??

Its totally flat, the reason it looks a little raised is JT didnt do a very good job putting it on. ;)

I dont even know if thats the style they decided to go with on the 182 Cup in the end?

Ah thanks dudes. I think one of you has shown me that picture before actually!

So it seems the stickers waiting at the dealer are defo the correct ones. Sweet, means I can finally get my Cup finished off properly :)

Im going to fit them myself though, as I think Ill take more care over the position than any mechanic will

Cheers again dudes

The ones stuck on my car are the correct script and size.  However, the real Cup badges are raised plastic, just like the ones fitted to the 172 Cup

Jeremy what do you mean "the real cup badges"?

So the flat ones arent the proper badges?

no his were the prototype and were just stickers, the ones you have ordered should be the same as the 172 cup (raised) but with the font used above.

Oh bugger, according to the dealer they are stickers that have arrived with them.

FFS Im really getting pissed at Renaults comic inability to do anything properly

STEVE182CUP

Are you saying yours are like the ones in the picture above? Or are yours proper chrome effect plastic badges like those fitted to the 172Cup (but different script)?

The raised ones are still stickers.

...and not badges like the 172Cup? Not trying to be picky, but I read Jezzas post as meaning the proper 182Cup badges are the same quality of finish as the 172Cup badges but with a different font/script.

FFS - its simple ! The badges that say 172 Cup and Cup (as used on the 182 Cup) are the same material. Raised, chrome effect plastic. Stuck on to the doors (or they should be...). The only difference is the font used for the badges. There are no flat badges ever produced. The sticker on mine was just to see the size and agree the font, its not a real one !

Well it obviously isnt that simple mate, since the dealer doesnt know anything about it. Hes telling me that the ones he now has in stock are stickers, which would seem like the ones in the photo of your Vee. Ergo not like the 172 plastic badges

If its so simple then maybe the dealers might have a clue, instead of relying on customers to finish off their own car. I would have paid more attention when the car was delivered, but I was too busy wondering what that long black thing was, sitting in a bag on the fookin back seat ;)

Ill obviously wait and see what the badges are like when they show up, but given the confusion amongst Renault themselves about these badges (2 dealers claimed they didnt even exist) then Im sure you can appreciate the confusion on my part?

Thanks for your help though.

Roy, you are getting all heated over something you dont even know they have got wrong. Youve not even been and seen what they have ordered. Worst case is they have ordered the 172 Cup badges not 182, in which case they can order the correct ones. Calm down. lol

Come to think of it, if its so simple why werent the badges on the fooking car when it was delivered? LOL comedy gold.

Not having a dig at you Jeremy, as I realise this isnt an official point of contact for you, but do you not find it amusing just how sh*t your dealers really are?

Sorry if I seem that way. Im not really getting heated at all, more amused. I do have reasons to be worried about the badges.

1) 2 dealers didnt know they existed
2) 1 dealer ordered the wrong ones and got 172 badges
3) My dad was at the dealers picking up up a Modus when the guy showed him the new badges - they are apparently flat stickers.

Ill wait and see what happens, but Im expecting the worst, which seems the best policy when dealing with Renault. Hell they ordered the wrong car and then delivered a part-biult one, so nothing would surprise me.

  renault clio 182 cup

roy just looked at mine and they are exactly the same as top picture ,they are also raised about 3 or 4 mm.i will try and send some pictures of them but having trouble with computer at the moment, hope this helps.

Thanks Steve, that pretty much confirms that the dealer who didnt know the badges even existed, has got the wrong ones for sesond time, but doesnt actually know without asking the customer if theyre the right one? Ill wait til they show up.

Simple huh? Muppets.

my 182cup as no cup badges ???? think i need to be getting to the dealership and finding out why not. can someone please tell me where the badges are meant to be so i can tell them when i go there. cheers.

All this fuss over a bloody sticker!

Yeah well call me fussy but when I read several reviews of a car, and Renault plaster the the press cars in badges, and the reviews all mention the Cup badges...I kinda expect my car to have them...its just me...Im funny about stuff like that
