182 Cup Coolant Issue

  Mk5 Golf Gti
Hi guys,

Only had my 182 a couple of weeks now but noticing the coolant seems to be going somewhere, initially I thought it might of been because the previous owner swapped the coolant tank from a stainless one back to the standard one and I don't think he bled the system properly.

Could this still be the reason its going? Or am I looking at a potential leak somewhere?

There is no obvious leak anywhere when I look under the car when parked up & it only goes down after It has been driven. I'm thinking of picking some Radwell up on the way home from work and putting that through the system just to try and block any leaks if that is the case

Any ideas?

Thanks guys,

Joe

one thing to check is the thermostat housing seal. I put a non genuine one on my 182 and it used to lose coolant when warm and after a drive, dripping onto the plastic gearbox cover and boiling off so look for staining there.

Quality, I will have a look when I get home! Is this an easy fix if this is the problem?
