182 ... cup options really worth it

Insurance is gonna be a pain for me, i did an online quote for std 182 and all was well. Clicked "Lowered Suspension" and "Optional factory body kit"

and it said I had to call them...usually means wont insure.

So wondered is the Cup suspension kit and body styling really worth my headache? I dont care bout handling etc, just want a pokey standard car with leather! 3mm isnt gonna do me any favours is it?

plus the front lip...i can buy that at a later date. But the spoiler? Whats the deal on that? is it much bigger?

Kinda verging to a totally standard 182 with the silver rims

BAD MISTAKE

DO NOT BUY without the cup options!

Choose another insurance company that wont charge you extra for them, I am with FIrst alternative.

Cue the non-cupped boys to hit on me.

95% of people cant be wrong.

Better still buy a Trophy?

Second hand buyers will like it to have the "Cup" pack. Even if you uprated the springs yourself some may feel that the Cup pack is more desirable.

Also the silver wheels look like their off a Honda HRV

Having said that should you claim and its insured as the standard 182...is the investigator gonna notice a 3mm drop and tiny spoiler!!

thanks to bruce for his insurance dillema i have been worried!

I was with direct line, and it made no difference to insurance costs, just told them for piece of mind knowing that id done my part.Think these cup packs confuse them though.

LOL, i mentioned the cup packs and they wanted an extra £200 so I guess it depends who you get when you ring up!

Yes, the spoilers and cup packs seem to confuse a lot of insurance companies - I had the same problem. All solved by First Alternative who dont charge extra.

Mine has the clio cup body kit on, it came from the factory like that. So in my eyes it is factory standard.Thats what you say.

As a minority i have to say i have had mine without cup suspension for 14 months and have yet to wish i had the cup suspension. It handles superbly without.

If i wanted to do track days id go for cupped but as i am not interested in that its not an issue for me.I live out in the country and 90% of my driving is non motorway, its a blast around country lanes in standard form.Never once been dissapointed and wished id gone for cupped suspension.

If i was buying again id again go for non cupped suspension :D

I went for the spoiler because i like the look of it :)

they are satndard options, dont have to add them as extras. It leaves the factory like that. Standard bodykit, standard height setting. Just say its the clio 182 with cup packs.

totally agree on that mate, no cup options here either and im not really all that fussed about it to be honest... although the anthracite rims would be nice, but i could that done if i really wanted i suppose...
