182 Cup over Cup'd FF?

Is there a point to owning a 182 Cup opposed to a 182 Cup'd FF?

I'm asking whether people think it's worth while, in a resale perspective.

I was thinking about the 182 Cup last night (as you do), and that the only main advantages with the FF are leather interior, climate, auto wipers and xenon lights. I think the only think I would miss would be the xenon's as they are quite good and clear at night.
I wouldn't miss the leather, as I hate having to be slightly careful with it (not to scratch it) and I wouldn't miss the climate as the cup has a/c, and I could cope with switching on wipers.

But what are other people's opinions? Are they harder to shift? I'm just interested to see opinions.

I got a 182 cup, they are 20kg lighter which really doesn't make any difference, maybe makes it slighty nimbler.

I think you can also pick up the Cups cheaper aswell.

I have fitted mine with leather seats now, all I need is some Xenon's and im happy.

If you have the cash the cup packed ones are the best. It all depends on what cars are available to you at the time.

I bought mine because it was in RB, it was local and it was cheap, good condition and low mileage etc etc.. So it was a no brainer.

further more, the 182 cup was made for people who are not bothered at fancy toys and just want an everyday car they can use for the track at weekends.

Sounds like he's answered his own question to me.

If you're not bothered about leather, having a dynamique steering wheel, having sunday market upholstery, no climate, no auto xenons, no auto wipers and being labelled a cheapskate then the 182 Cup is for you ;)

172 Cup or not at all imho.

I'm not looking to buy a cup, it was just a general question, I was interested in people's opinions. ie Is there a point in them?

ditto that response, the 182 cup isnt as raw as the 172 cup so if it was me it would be 182 ff for luxery, 172 cup for rawness :D

The 182 cup has the free flow cat and the superior exhaust manifold that 172 owners pay lots to retro fit. All in, the 182 cup is the best prospect for future tuning.

There is a point in them as they are they same car for cheaper!

I cud not stand auto wipers and lights in my 172 FF. I think climate is pointless, as A/C does the same job.

The only things I miss are xenon's and leather.

BTW I also prefer the steering wheel beacuse its not made of rice paper like the sport wheel.

its still stiched leather and has all the C/C's on it.

The only thing I would miss would be xenon's I think. But at the end of the day, the cup's lights are good enough to see where you're going at night.

I suppose there is a point to them, some people want a cheaper no nonsense car.

Cupped FF has a better stereo (although still sh*te) and doesn't it have a couple more airbags too?

Main reason I didn't get a cup was because of the interior (which I though was shocking - esp the rear bench).

I like Xenons but otherwise I could do without the rest.

I see the point with the 172 cup over ff, but not really of the 182 cup over ff. I'd rather have the 182 with cup packs, kind of the best of both then! :) Obviously the 182 cups cheaper, but apart from that I mean.

182 and 182 CUp both have the exhaust manifold and cat etc its not 182 CUp specific.

I KNOW THAT. LOL My observation was directed to 172 cup people who constantly down the 182 cup.

All you modern young folk ,constantly chunderring on about xenons , ac, toys ect. In my day you were lucky if you got a heater.

Get a 182 Cup'd FF and add Xenon's.

The leather seats aren't 100% leather anyway so wouldnt get scratched.

Also the climate control pack includes AC, Auto sensitive wipers and headlights (which is cool).

The 172 Cup is 40kg lighter, has no AC, no ABS, no traction etc. If you're tuning any Clio to make it go fast, make it a 172 Cup.

182 Cup = Marketing excercise.

Maybe a 182 Wheel. lol.

My turinis weight 12kg each.

40 kg is a large sack of potatoes. It's not insignificant. It's like driving everywhere with a 6.5 stone child in your car. And if 40Kg is nothing.... what does that make 20kg (the difference between a FF and a Cup)? Like I said... no point buying a 182 Cup unless you're saving cash. There's no other real reason imho.
