182/Cup Speed Limiter

<newbie>Stupid question probably...

Is the speed limiter part of the cruise control and does it actually prevent the car from going over the limit set? I ask because my, soon to be gone, company car has a speed LIMIT setting, but it only sounds an alarm when the max speed is reached - it doesnt have crusie mind you.</newbie>

Yes, it limits the speed UNLESS you press the pedal hard and it will OVERRIDE the limiter.

Awesome thanks. Is it easy to set on the move? Im kinda hoping to be able to use it a lot, even in urban situations, so I know I cant get nicked

yeah its quite easy to set, just flick the switch set the speed, and its sorted.

Excellent, thanks for the info. Do any of you guys use it to stay plod-safe on roads where its too easy to break the speed limit, or do you find it a gimmick? I already know Ill be setting it to 90mph for motorway use.

When I get the freakin car that is! This is like the longest wait for anything ever

works good for long stretches of road that have cameras etc ive used it a few time, the motorway i would be inclined to use the cruise tho, set it take your foot away and you can adjust up or down whilst in cruise mode.

I use the cruise on the 172 rather than the limiter tbh for camera zones and other plod money making zones.

Limiter is deactivated when you put the accelerator to the floor.

I am as above,i use the cruise control on stretches where i dont want to go over a certain speed...foot off and away we go.Thumbs for more or less speed !

funny i was messing around with the cruise control didnt know how it worked, plugged in 60 or somert and the car just took off, mailto:cr@pped">cr@pped meself!

The fun thing it to set it to 123mph, then slow down to about 50mph in 3rd then turn cruise control on! lol

Or limiter at 50mph foot almost to the floor in 3rd then turn the limiter off!
