182 cup = pointless car IMO

Trophy has the super duper sachs suspension

oh is that the only difference between the two?
how come trophys are goin for around 3k more than 182's then? limited edition and all that...

Colour, seats, wheels and suspension set-up I think. And I think they have a V6 spoiler but not 100% on that.

Suspension set-up is far superior I'd imagine.

Aye;

Capsicum red Paint
Only 500 made
Anthracite Speedline Turinis
Sachs remote damper suspension
V6 Spolier
Recaro Trendline Seats

  5 GTT & Orb'd Trophy
Yep both front and rear are sachs, the fronts with remote reservoir and are fully adjustable, they are also £1440 a pop.

182 cup is the most pointless 2.0 clio made is just a cheap 182 with 1.2 seats

trophy is a lot better or if u want a cheaper option get a 172 cup as thats the proper cup

Pointless?

It weighed 20kg less but more to the point was over £2k cheaper!

I know someone who bought one new for £10,500.

The seats really let it down thou.

I would hardly call a 182 pointless! And more to the point unless your a track day specialist, the average driver that likes to throw there clio round bends would not benfit from the trophy set-up. I couldn't noticably tell the difference so went for a 182 FF with cup options. Is this also a pointless car?

Don't get me wrong, I think the Trophy is a fantastic car. It's just not for everyone.

The Trophy was set up by reno specifically for English B roads!

stick some nice recado seats in a 182cup & your done and saved yourself alot of money. dont forget your getting cup spoiler, cup splitter also better suspension then the standard 182.
only thing the 182ff will have extra then is a few other electronic gizmo's. its then down to what you prefer imo.....

I have to laugh when people say the 182 is a pointless car, because its THAT much different to a 172.

Out of all the Clios, the V6 is the most pointless, but out of all the Clios, the V6 is the one id like the most.

Exactly! and I couldn't see a significant difference on the test drive and I don't think most people would. I don't claim to be an exceptional driver, but I do enjoy a good thrash. Maybe if I thrashed it within a inch of its life down a closed road or something similar maybe I might see the benefits.

No one said the 182 was a pointless car. They said the 182 Cup was a pointless car.

ANy of you owned a 182 cup you make these silly opinion

182 cup is by far a good car

My next door neighbour has a trophy when i used to have my cup, the cup looked so much better.

And tbh even when we had a bit of a thrash i was always in front and would slighty get awya in the corners,, mind you i did have HR's on

182 is a fantastic little car, one car defo worth looking at and i defo would have another one

I do not wish to be sarcastic in any way, and I'm certainly not putting the Trophy down.

But I asked if they thought a 182 with the cup options would be a pointless car?

I couldn't tell the difference between the two cars, I'm not saying there isn't a difference becasue there clearly is. my uncle (an ex privateer rally driver) drove one and it handled better than when he drove my car down the same road. All I'm saying is you have to be pretty talented to push a car like that to feel the benefits. I don't understand why some people take this all as negative remarks?

gotta love a trophy for the drool factor of having remote resevoir AMAZING suspension on a stock vehicle.

This proves my point, a large majority of how well a car drives/ handles is down to the driver and very rarely drives at the limit of a car

And there were less cups made then trophy's lol

At the end of the day i want a fun car and as Clarksons says, it makes you warm in side and makes you smile and thats exactly what a 182 cup does

its cheaper and just as much if not more fun then a trophy

I have now sold the clio cup and bought a scooby, but i miss my little clio everyday

for looks, the way it drove and handled

Cup is faster than a Trophy, it said so in Evo magazine... Evo magazine is the equivalent of the motoring bible, therefore the Cup must be better? Surely :rasp:

Stop stirring, you know the reason for that. You're just chucking petrol on the fire.
