How does this some it up?:
Breaking it down, the cup was just a no thrills 182, an awful lot of car for not a lot of money. that is never a bad thing!
the FF's were for us people that like our creature comforts
and the trophy's were the track ready 182?

souns like the clio sport sheep are in the house
Because a trophy owner has said its better then a cup the is it so obviously better
TBH i have owned a cup and driven a trophy
So what if its cheapers
so what if it has cheap materials
So what it does have Recaro seats thats make you sit so high your nealy out the roof
You find me a car that is as cheap and as fun you'll be lucky
Trophy to me wasnt as nice as its made out to be, found the suspension hard and unfor giving found the seats made me sit high up, when i like to be lower to the floor.
Looks nice dont get me wrong its a track day car tbh and should be left there lol

i like 182 cup's, i just feel that they didnt go far enough to make is a 'cup' tho. should have done away with the aircon like on the 172 cups.

That's true I'd agree with that.
I remember reading the 172 Cup brochure when it first came out and there were options for:
- 6 or 10 point roll cage?
- Fully approved harnasses
- Fully approved buckets
there were more but I can't remember the rest

LOL at 1.2 seats in the 182 Cup - they're exactly the same as the FF 182 as Roy said.
They just don't come with the illusion of luxury that a set of Renault leather/alcantara seat covers gives you.

yep, i remember reading that too! if it had the above options it would make it more 'cup' worthy imo.

I guess they could have removed the AC from the Cup, but then most people would have added it as an option, or not bought the car at all if it wasn't an option. I do laugh at the tools on here who think not having AC makes you Ayrton Senna. They're all cheap quick hatches. Just because the FF has cheap half leather seats, and a steering wheel that melts on a sunny day, doesn't make it a Rolls Royce, and not having aircon doesn't make the 172Cup a racing car, it just makes it hot. And cheap. Although cheap is bad apparantly

Well I don't know about that. I just chuckle at the people who think any 182/172, Cup or otherwise, should either have a leather sofa in it, some foot stools (& the cheapest looking climate display on earth), or, should have no interior at all and have plastic windows and slick tyres. There was room in the range for the 182Cup, because Renault sold some. Perhaps some of you guys should start manufacturing cars - a lot of you seem to know all about it.

The stripes have been on there nearly 3 years so I imagine it would leave marks as I haven't really looked after the paint (I never wash the car let alone wax/polish it)!

I have only owned the trophy and have never driven any other 1*2, so based on this comparision i can clearly say the trophy is the best 1*2, end of.
(Its also the best because i own one and 99% of you dont, hehe)

i never said i was a cup hater at all! wish people wouldn't get so f**king defencive on here! jeez. i was just saying it should have followed in the footsteps of the very sucessfull 172 cup.
i never said no air-con will make your car faster (even tho it will slightly), it would have kept the cost down even more and sevricing costs would be less! that was my point!
cheap is not bad at all. everyone loves a bargain! i just opted for the full fat because that was avalible at a decent enough cost at the right time for me.
i like cups... im NOT a hater! lol

What a load of shite I have just read though. Everyone is diffrent, people like diffrent things from cars so you people will have to agree to dis agree. The trophy imo is a more focused 182 which is aimed at individuals who like a bit of exclusitivity and enjoy the odd track day. 182 which ever version is a cheap, quick and very good road car aimed at the masses. But unfortunatly which ever 18poo you own it will never be as great as the mighty williams.
