182 decat legality?????

wots the deal with legality on a decat??? i know u gotta have cat on for mot. but if u get pulled or vosa stop u????? pls sum1 let me know. i have a friend who is a cop and he reckons they can seize your motor and u gotta pay loadsa dosh to get it back.

they normally just issue a rectification notice (ie play it dumb, and pretend your CAT must be knackered, say "ooh i'll get that fixed ASAP" blah blah)

There is no law that says you have to have a cat.

But if you fail emmissions, they won't be happy.

If they find out you have the decat and have as such made the emmissions bad yourself they will not smile upon you.
