182 Exhaust, how long should it last?

My exhaust is rattling now when I shut the doors/boot/bonnet, it only just started rattling this week. I looked under it and its very corroded/rusty. I think its on its way out and i'll be buying one before the year is over.

How long should they last, its on my 2 year old clio 182, which is 3 in september. I've done 60,000 miles on them. I need two rear tyres also, they have done 60,000 miles also, and still have plenty of grip but they are cracking on the sidewalls.

Can't help with how long they should last etc but mine will be forsale in the next couple of weeks mate. It's currently on 24K?

You getting a new exhaust like? I think i'm gonna get a new one though from Ren-Tech.

I thought it would not rust as quick as it has done, I thought it was stainless steel.

Should last 100K+++ do last about 30k

get an aftermarket one, SS and will last a lifetime. if its rattling it could be your mounts, can you work out where its coming from?

as far as aftermarket exhausts, i have a milltek which i love.
but YS, BTB, and prospeed all seem good.

arent the back boxes double skinned? that is just exterior rust were the stainless pipe meets the back box, two disimilar metals corrode faster. mine like it to though mine done 8k miles and it 3 year old.

also depends if u just use it for short jorneys or not, short jorneys the exhaust doesnt get warm enough to evaporate condensation etc.

I use it for Long journeys from Portsmouth to Middlesbrough and back. Due to me being in the navy!!

Have you checked your heatshield? Thought my exhaust had gone but it was just the rear heat shield
