182 Gearbox questions (leaks and slop)

  e36 328i tracker
Hi All

I am relatively new to the clio world and need some advice/pointing towards the right information. Hope you guys can help.

My 182 has a mild oil leak around the gear selector on the box....what is the latest fix for this? It's very annoying!

In addition, I have the PMC shifter, but the shift is very light and a bit sloppy/vague, are there ways of tightening it up through bushes, adjustable settings, etc.?

Thanks in advance. Chucked a few pics in for attention :)

Right, so the oil leak from the selector is a very common issue mate. They all do it! And to replace the seal means you have to strip the box to do it. Pain in the arse, but I replace the seals on every box I rebuild.

To tighten the feel up, you can replace bushes in the lower part of the linkage and there’s also a nylon bush at the gearbox end you can replace.
