182 low on oil, noob question

Hiya people,

I feel like a write amateur asking this...

...I need to put some oil in the 182 asap as it indicated it was low yesterday when coming back from work.

What should I buy or use? Should I use the same stuff from when I got it serviced? Or doesn't this matter?

U can mix different grades but personally id keep with the same that was used when it was serviced, which was probably 5w40 fully synth.

How many dealers actually use that oil though? Mines never had any put in it.

I would check the dipstick just to confirm the level before topping up. The electronic guage seems quite accurate, but I'd never trust it. Let the car sit for at least 10 minutes on level ground before checking

So I should buy some 5w40 fully synth.

I've never done an oil top up before, do I just put it in, obviously I have to do this when the car is completely cold!
