182 manfiold fitting to 172 guide?

And does anybody have dimensions for the link pipe that needs to be fabricated?

Its not that big a deal to drop the subframe when you think about it. Ball joints and the rack bolts then its just the 4 main bolts and it'll hit the deck.

to drop the sub frame have you to take the 4 steering rack bolts out?

Theres only two that I know of (haven't done it on an RS only the non) and yes otherwise the steering column will hold the rack/subframe to the car.

no just undo the pinch bolt on the rack/column.

there 4 on the steering rack iirc, supose you could just undo the pinch bolt also. I had trouble removing my sub frame when doing the clutch. I didnt know the steering rack had to be taken off.

Never thought about that and just looking it up do that, waaaaay easier than pissing about the with the inaccessible rack bolts.

and a car lift

I reckon 20 mins with a tea break :rasp: LOL

I may take a few photos and write up a guide on how to do this?

3 hours to get it off. 2 hours making a link pipe and fitting new manifold, 2 hours back together

The link pipe shouldnt be a problem, as were fiting the manifold in one of the Magnex R&D bays.. suppose my Dad working there has its perks
