182 noises

hello peeps,

ive never actuallly been in another 182 exept for mine so im not sure if they all sound the same, but mine sounds a bit whistly and rattly almost as if an exhaust gasket has gone or something. it comes from the engine bay.
performance isnt down (i dont think) as i can see of a cooper s lol. but im wondering if everyone elses sounds a tad ropey??? is it a french thing?

I have a little exhaust rattle when its warm... sounds to me like a loose heatshield or similar, havnt had a decent look underneath yet with the rain!

its not so much a rattle really more a blow hissing, does it more when cold.

Start the car up cold, get someone to cover the exhaust with a couple of old rags, look for any leaks.

Freaky, it was only this morning on the way to work, I heard a kind of hissing noise when accelerating, but it slowly got quieter as the engine warmed up lol. I wondered what it was.

Its best to start with the exhaust and work you way back.
