182 not starting!

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Had all the relays replaced under warranty 6 months ago, but occasionally fuel pump doesn't kick in and engine won't turn over. hasn't done this since all the relays were replaced.

Any ideas?

It did it again this lunchtime, turn the key and nothing happens at all.

Took the 3 relays out, checked them (all seem fine) and replaced them and it turned over and fired 1st time. Whats going on?

  ATS CUP'd Dynamique
check the female conector from the alternator to the starter motor..it probably isnt this but this faulty connection made my clio not start

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Not checked the starter motor or the alternator, will check it out tonight, thanks.

If it carries on Renault Customer service are going to get an ear-full

  Peddled device
Has to be a dodgy connection somewhere.Unplug them and check their going to make contact when you plug them back in....and give them a squirt of WD-40.

I've solved it, It was the starter motor relay. All connections were good and clean, but apparently the relays aren't up to the job on the clio.

It wasn't starting again, new relay and fine running ever since.
Cheers for the help though guys

Awesome.

This is the same problem I am having with mine. At least I know how to go about fixing the little b**ch now. For a few months I had to keep wobbling the relay boards about for them to work.

Have you taken the arch liner out by any chance?

I have asked the head technican Mr Basil Faulty and he says hit it repeatedly with a sbranch full of leaves.

haven't removed the arch liner, and thers no sign of water ingress or corrosion anywhere.

So you know, the starter relay is the middle of the three little black relays
