182 oil leak rubber bung???

i got 182 and theres a rubber bung or plug on r/h side of engine block opporsite the air box and its split?! and spitting a lil bit of oil out! can i just replace the plug and wats it for???

It's the camseal cover (i think) Yeah can buy em and wack a new one in, mine weaps slightly.

you can just replace them. They tap in. They're there to give access to the ends of the cams when using locking tools during a cambelt change

no harm in a light smear of silicon either, will stop weeping and will help them slip in a little easier
