182 owners - Amp power cable; alarm wiring and THAT grommet

Does your alarm wiring come through the bonnet cable release grommet (where it is recommended that you run the amp power cable?). Mine does.

Car as delivered.

I think the wiring was just pushed up out the way and subsequently dropped down. Nothing a few cable ties can't fix but....

Today I went to see how easy it would be to get 8AWG through that grommet and found that the alarm wiring is already going through there - you can recognise it by the white papier mache stuff that seems to be wrapped round it!

So leaving my bleating about the professional Cat1 installation aside.....

Is your alarm wiring through the same grommet (I assume so - aren't they all installed by the same outfit?)

How are your running your amp cable through the bulkhead?

Going off the guide there then yes it does, I know mine didn't have anything coming through the bonnet release grommet originally but it hasn't got an alarm so I'd say its safe to say that thats how their all done.

cant honestly say i know where mine goes. Ill try and look next time i get chance...

there is one guuy on here who fitts them at the import centre. He will know.
