182 steering wheel alignment

  Astra VXR 17/05/07

Has anyone else had a problem with their steering wheel being out of line ?

Mine points slightly right and even though its only something minor it can become annoying.

Had the car into Renault today and they tested it and said it was the tracking ???

The car has only done 5400 miles and has never been kerbed,it also drives in a perfect straight line without hands on the wheel ( Not on public roads of course)

I always thought it would pull if the tracking was out ??

Are they having me over or could it be something else ???

Cheers

I had and still have a similar problem with mine. Only seems out a little bit but makes me kinda paranoid.

I took it back to renault and they said I must have kerbed it and they would have to send it away to get fixed!!! I said the car had not been kerbed and they could check all the alloys as there was not a scratch on any of them. They then said I must have driven down a large pot hole so at that point I just told them to shove it.

Renault suck.

pot holes can do it

but they need to lock the steering wheel ARROW STRAIGHT, and THEN track the front wheels to suit

NOT (as theyve probably done when they checked it) just wacked on the lasers and not checked the position of the steering wheel

I had the same problem with my previous 182, wheel was off to the left.

When the steering wheel is locked in a straight position, the tracking will always be out.

I just let it go, even though the dealer said they would pay to have it tracked.

(Did not trust the monkeys to get the tracking right.)
