182 stereo help urgently required!

I have just pulled out my 182s head unit and replaced it with my Alpine unit. As the Alpine was fitted in my 172 it already had the correct connecters on it so i have not cut any wires at all and when i switched it on worked okay. Now the problem is that the digital clock on the top display has to be set every time the ignition is switched on and there is some weird clicking noise coming from behind the speedo. Okay i thought to myself maybe the connections are wrong so i put the 182 stereo back in only to find that it wants the radio code every time i turn the ignition on. So now i have the clock wanting the time, the radio wanting the code and this peculier noise from behind the dash! If anyone has any stereo/electrical advice on this problem i would be very interested to hear it as i only touched the wiring to the head unit! Thanks!

You will retain the Temp and clock, some makes of HU have adapters so you can retain the sattelite controls + limited display..

yea if u want the lot you gotta invest about £30 in an adaptor for all display and controll
