182 top strut turning?? is it loose??

hey just had my drivers side top strut replaced...

it turns at the thread by hand? is this meant to do it? the other older one does not turn at all..

no, its not supposed to turn, however it will have a bit of play in it as its surrounded in rubber.

it is loose...i can turn it a fair bit....dont want to tighten it or anything, as im assuming both sides have to be the same..

the bit that has the thread stickn out..

Is it he strut top nut?.. can you turn it with you fingers?

The whole strut will have some play in it and will spin if too much force is applied when tightening it.

21mm deep socket... get them tightened up!

its not a BIG problem as the weight of the car keeps the struts in place, but you dont want them hand tight! lol

nip them up until you feel the resistance... the strut will spin when its tight enough as Justin says.

tighten gentley til you feel resistance form the spring, if you go to far you've fucked up!
