182 track toy

  Audi s3
Hi guys

been on the forum for a while but have never posted up my car or posted a lot for that matter, so here goes.

having always been into cars but not having the first clue about modifying/maintaining them thought I’d take the plunge. id previously had a mk7 golf R and s3 which were brand new so didn’t want to modify and lose warranty albeit the s3 ended up getting a tuning box on it.

after spending a day up knockhill and watching the clios fly round I thought that would be the choice and began looking before finally picking up an unfinished project.

At this point the car had the majority of parts fitted however needed a full wiring harness, fuel lines and driveshafts fitted.

The spec is:

after picking the car up it went straight to mj racing in Motherwell to have the mechanical work done while I found someone to build the harness.I was recommended mi auto electrics in strath haven, we ran into snags as we had no previous harness to work off and built it off omex’s recommendation.however simon got to the bottom of it and rather than have dodgy French electrics I have an easily serviceable simple harness now ,Result!

I hit various snags through out the build that made me wonder if I had bit off more than I can chew but mj racing really helped me out and got the car over the finishing line. So I’d thoroughly recommend them if anyone’s in Glasgow.

fastforward to last Monday and car was at mac motorsport in Dundee for mapping , making 191bhp. Mapper has it making more but it was starting to misfire on the top end however I’m happy at that for now!

Sorry for the lack of pictures but hoping to document things a bit more now I’ve started this thread.
plans for now would be tidy up various parts and get a few track days under my belt and enjoy the bloody thing!

Great spec to get started 👍👍

Thanks I had done a fair bit of looking around before picking it up, I’ve got a few things I would change but for now it should be good fun

Front canards arrived , so managed to get them fitted, look a bit wonky in this photo but they are level and in line with each other.

unfortunately looks like it’s tucked away for the next 3 weeks at least due to this lockdown so might try and give it a full machine polish in the meantime.
