182 Tyre Question

  Clio 182

Hi all, i have a 54 plate 182 and i was wondering if a standard Clio wheel will fit so that i can chuck it in the boot when i go off anywhere just in case of punctures, then i dont need to use the tyre weld stuff.

If this is possible which model Clio would i need to look out for at the salvage yard...any ideas?

Id have thought a normal 14" or 15" steel wheel with a fairly high profile would work, but should be treated like a space saver cause its not gonna offer you balanced handling / grip.

Id be interested to see what wheel is the equivalent outside diameter, might get one myself.

you will soon get bored of having that in the boot
I work in the middle of nowhere and doubt theyd be able to get an exalto there anyime quickly so maybe even worth having one in my lodging up there, just in case!

Would take up too much boot space but probably worth having one in the garage to get you back on the road asap.

i have a 182 wheel in my boot it does take up a bit of space but is is better than being stuck in the middle of wales for 2 hours (couldnt use tyre weld as side wall split) not being able to get to my destination and when being brought back on the back of a transporter getting my wheel scratched, oh and i was lucky i had a phone signal where i was if i hadnt i would have been in the sh!t.

and the car being off the road for two days because the tyre had to be orderd in then i had to get my old man to take me to the garage.

get a spare as it is always there if you need it if you dont you might regret it one day.

ive got a standed size spare in the boot takes up a fare bit of space though just fits

work out in the middle of nowhere no moblie signal so makes sense to have a spare

dont no why you dont get a space saver in the boot a standed my old mr2 roadster had on in the front in a nice cover and it was screwed to the floor so it didnt slide about

why didnt reno do that !

As i believe the 14 inch wont fit over the discs on the front, the 15 inch will.

You could always swap a front for a back if you do have a 14 inch though.
