182 Washer Fluid Bottle Leak Help Needed.

Not happy

Took my car to Reno to sort out a cutting out problem, which they did but they seem to have damaged my washer bottle - either they did or the weather did my guess is they did.

Filled it up yesterday with antifreeze, needed topping up and this morning it's bloomin empty!!!

I've done a search to try and find out how to get to the bottle to check it and is it a case of just removing the wipers etc? is it easy enough??

Do you think Reno would charge me for this if i had to take it in again ( would like to avoid if possible)

I was under the impression you can get to it if you peel back the wheel arch liner?

yeah, wheel off and arch liner removed to replace the washer bottle..

Oh right, wheel off job is it.

Ive not got the tools for that, only got a few spanners, thought it would be a painless easy job.

Reno it is then, brill!!

I've had 2 replaced under warrenty. As its a common fault on the 172 that they just crack for no apparent reason.

They get at it from the top ie. Wipers off and then the black trim, this leaves the bottle exposed.

Cheers guys, so i can expect it to be done under warrenty then, just that i read on a thread (using the search) that the bottle costs around £18 + vat.

yeap should be done for free. as I said above I had 1 go in under a year, and 1 replaced last year. Hopefully it will last now.

When I booked mine in the receptionist told me they would need the car for a complete day as they had to remove the front bumper!!! even though I said it was up by the windscreen. lol

took them roughly 1hr to do the job.

Intresting, my GF has just cracked and i was told it was a common fault but not covered under warranty it is booked in for Sat and want to charge £65 + vat for the job,

Shall i argue that this is a warranty job?
