182 wet under passenger seat

Hi, cleaned my car out yesterday evening and was hoovering under the passnger seat and felt it and it was all wet. It is literally soaked under there, and all the carpet in front is now also becoming damp. Just wondering if anyone else has had this or come accross a problem like this and has any ideas of what could be the problem?

Same on mine, found out it comes in near the rubber seal and sits on the bottom, was told to drill some holes in seal.

But I've just moved the seal around so there's a little gap and thus water runs away and out of the car.

My 172 had the same ^^. Also had the same and it was a blocked air-con drain.

Had same prob with my 172. Was coming thro where air con pipes go thro bulkhead.
So you have a whole load of options to look at. Seems like renault just cant build cars properly.

Much appreciated

  yep.
i noticed a wet patch in mine this morning [clio that is!]

seems to be getting in through the side trim on the door [somehow] then collecting in the rubber seal and trickling into the footwell.

might try the "moving seal so gap is at blockage" approach.

bloody renaults!!

I've been to renault regarding mine and it took them the whole day to decide the water wasn't coming in through the door, so said it must be coming in underneath. Now its going back this thurs and they said they are gonna be taking out my passenger seat and removing carpets so they can (again) try and find out where it is coming in. Don't get it back til fri either, and don't trust them in the slightest with my car, so i'm not looking forward to it :(

Hey all,

I had this problem with my 1999 clio. I found the problem was actual the sunroof!

When you take the sun roof glass panel out of the roof, you will see that there is a gutter either side, these lead down into a tube that exits the rain water under the bottom of the car (toward the front of the car).

Where the tubes connect to these gutters I was getting some water in the roof of the car.

When I found the floor was soaking I thought that one of the floor bungs was gone,(no were else was wet) but I managed to take the carpet out and find that, where the pipe connects to the gutter, it was leaking making water tickle down to Pillars either side of the window screen, down there under the dash and onto the carpet under the peddles.

Worth looking at, I suppose the mk3 might have the same set up.

my cup leaks in the back prolly the rear windows need sealing, but im carpetting the back anyways so its not a problem

  yep.
apparently mine is missing a clip used to hold the plastic trim onto the outside of the door [next to the 2.0 16v sign] so there is a hole in the door [where the clip should be] and theres me problem.

anyone know if i can get a clip from anywhere?
