Think 11.9kg for std cup wheel, and 9.9kg for turini w/o tyre. Both lard arse rims, but turini allows brakes to cool better.

Gees, my 172 came with 15x7s (they did in this country) and - I just measured one - they only weigh 8.5 kg. Sure, the 15" tyre is a bit heavier than a 16" tyre, but only about 1 kg.

standard 182 cup wheels are 9.7kg (18kg with tyre) Trophy ones are about 7.5 to 8kg. I weighed them a while ago.

Yes:

182 wheel including tyre = 18kg (HEAVY).

The best mod I ever had was 4x OZ Superleggs. Everything felt much better.

trophy turini's with tyre weigh in at about 16 - 16.5kg. I've got some 15" f1 cup wheels with tyres which come to 15kg. You do feel the difference but that could also be due to the slight difference in rolling radius as another factor

Yes:

1) Braking was sharper. I even swapped them round again, just be sure.

2) The suspension did its thing a lot better... in fact, as soon as std wheels went back on the car, my rear dampers started leaking. Lighter wheels = less work for the suspension.

3) The brakes ran a little cooler too... every little helps I suppose.

4) Tyre wear was very even (could also be due to offset & springs though).


I was very pleased with them. If I get another 182, I'll stick another set of superleggs on again (15's this time).

3 kg less than 182 wheels IIRC.

Because it's rotating mass, add-up the total weight saving (let's say 12kg) and multiply it by 8 (=96).

So the improvements you get are similar to shedding 96kg off the car (suspension/braking wise)... according to what I've read somewhere.
