182 with a 172 exhaut?

182 with a 172 exhaust?

Hi everyone, im looking at buying either a clio 172 or a 182 and ive seen quite an interesting one advertised.

Its a 53 plate 182 but doesnt have the twin rear exhaust. I spoke to the current owner and he told me the first few 182's made didnt have the twin exhaust, is this true?

I thought the 10bhp increase of the 182 over the 172 was due to the revised exhaust

I put the reg number in to get an insurance quote and it comes up that it is registered as a 182

Any help would be greatly appreciated as its quite low mileage for the money, its on autotrader here

All 182s came with the twin tail pipes.

all 182s had twin exhausts, a 53 plate will be a 172, their was 04 172's sold and a few late registered going on to 54 and i beleive an 05 was spotted

As above can't be a 182 as they didn't come out until 04 plate and ALL have twin exhausts. Sounds dodgy if he selling as a 182!

My 172 comes up as a 182 with some companies.

There are some 53 plate 182's, were press cars IIRC. However they all came with the twin exhaust.

look at the plates, they have messed them up, some are saying 182 and one says 172.

Thats obviously not the car he was talking about, its a 04 for a start.
