182 wont start from cold

  182 ff
the car wouldnt start yesterday,it just turned over n over. all dash lights on and radio working ok.
its a new battery(3 months old)
in over a year its always started 1st time(apart from old battery went).
it did start but took about 5 long attempts.(I had to use the accelerator to start it, usually I don't have to)
.

just wondering if you had any ideas why it wouldn't start.
I have just started using the new shell nitro fuel(few weeks). not sure if that's the problem.

same again today it wouldn't start from cold.
it starts from warm/hot.

what does TDC mean?
about a week ago the temp gauge wudnt go dead centre(one below) then it would go up and down abit when accelerating.

in 18 months its always started 1st time and gauge dead centre.
I took it Renault last week they said it was fine.(its stayed dead centre since)
then this problem has just started.

it's french..

Seriously though, try cleaning or replacing TDC sensor?

Recently mine wouldn't start after being left for a period (overnight) and it would randomly cut out at low speeds. I whipped the TDC sensor out and liberally sprayed electrical contact cleaner on the end where the pickup is, refitted and now for the last 5 days (touch wood) it has started first time. Just need to monitor now incase the sensor itself is on its way out.

I was taking it Renault today, and the car started 1st time like normal,

they plugged it in and there is no faults recorded on it.
just bought some contact cleaner ,ill try to take the senor off.the senor is £53 you get the wiring loom with that. but it will need soldering on.
