Ever since I've had me car there been a few wee niggles.

1. When pullling away and lifting off the clutchs theres always a springing noise which sounds like something catching. my first thought was the pedal. No go sat for ages looking around it and it isn't that. You can also feel it through the steering aswell. It mainly happens while manovering. Any ideas?

2. Cat... rattles like hell makes the car sound older than the 7k that on it.

3. Doesn't like first gear of reverse when u start up the car after its been sat eg overnight. Nearly always have to give the cluth a second pump before it'll go into gear.

any one else had similar problems???

Hmm, not too sure if my exhaust has a slight whistle or rattle, dont sound right when the windows are down. (Comming from the front end).
Apart from that, she runs sweet.

It sounds louder on mine when then car is warming up.
I wonder if its the heatshield ont he manafold or something?

doubt manifold cos ud have a really bad fuel consumption and down on powrer.

That spring feelin happens on mine as well (so your not the only one).
Someone once told me its the ABS givin a quick stab or something. Don't think its anything to worry about ( :S ).

When i first pull away from having started the engine i get a springing type noise which can also be felt through the clutch pedal, as far as i can find out it is just the ABS doing an initial self test, also had to change a clutch cable on my brothers 182 for noises/pedal feel.

Not had any problems with the cat yet.

Is there any free travel in the pedal before it starts working and you are having to pump the pedal to take out the slack?, the 182's have an automatic clutch adjustment on the pedal so the pedal should feel solid from the top.

The only thing i do when i go for reverse gear after the car has been sat overnight is to put it into a forward gear first, 1st or 2nd just to slow the gearbox shafts down as reverse usually does not have a synchro, then reverse gear just slips in nicely, some of the sheds i have owned in the past you had to use that method, so now it is just second nature to do it.
