197 auto lights problem

  albi 197
Ok so the last 2 mornings, coming back from work, I have to drive through a series of shaded areas of road triggering the lights to come on. However once out in normal light the lights won't turn off.

Anyone got any suggestions? My car is slowly falling apart in terms of electrical components lol.

No this is normal, if the sun is positioned low and something triggers it to come on, they often won't go out again as the sensor isnt receiveing enough light for them to turn off, especially if the sun is behind you.

My lights used to come on in the morning all the time and stay on with my 197, and it happens with my BMW that i have now.

Try it during the day time when the sun is high up, cover your hands with the sensor so the light comes on, the light should go out again soon afterwards (or just drive under a tunnel). This will confirm if there really is a problem with the sensor or not.
