197 exhaust manifold on a 172.

I assume its just like the 182 manifold. Or am I wrong? Would it give power gains like the 182 manifold would or would it be worse?

Engine is mechanically similar, but can't see the malifold fitting as there is loads of room round the baulkhead area in a 197, not so on a 172/182. Not to mention that the 192 has its first cat built into the manifold. 182 version is where its at tbh

197 has the cat built into the manifold, so surely 182 manifold will be better for power even if it does fit

manifold flange to head and the exhaust ports are the same, dont know about the dimensions of the manifold itself but it doesn't look like it will fit

the 182 manifold snakes down so perfectly that i don't think any other 4-2-1 would fit right

Thought as much. If it has a cat built into it and if it fits I can see 197 owners goin for the 182 manifold.
