197 Gear Knob fit 172??

Just wondering, really like the look of the aluminium gear knobs fitted to 197s (genuine Renault Sport ones) and wanted to know if it would fit on my 172 Cup?

I was thinking of this one below, just a Renault Sport logo. Agreed 6 gears would look strange!

That's from a Twingo 133, right? I'm looking at getting one of those to replace the ageing MOMO one I've got!

Just spoke to a bloke at Renault about it - the Twingo gearstick won't fit, but a Megane 250 gearstick might do & looks the same

I'm going to mention it to Fred@BTM next time I speak to him & try to get one put on mine!

No this isn't the Twingo one. It may fit a Twingo as well I don't know, but this is the one from Renault Sport's accessories range, and is for the Clio 197 and Megane 250 amongst others. They never came fitted as standard to the cars, is an accessory. I do believe I've read that this gear knob comes in two different part numbers, presumably one fits 197s and Megane 250s and the other for the Twingo? Based on the Renault man telling you a Megane 250 knob should fit, and this is designed to fit a Megane 250, it should fit?!
