Test drive that is.

Got to have a door dink quoted for (lass at work owned up, props) so I'm going to have a blip round in the 197 at the same time. Other half might be flogging the GTI, so mise well have a look.

Will do. If the salesman asks the usual question fishing for trade in "what are you driving now?" he may get nervous. A Trophy and a VAG tuned Mk II 16v GTI.

I will try to refrain from remarks about driving with 2 fat blokes in the back etc. Like the look of the box, but hope it's not too close. Brakes and diffuser are promising, but the weight still does worry me.
