ok so im driving back from dropping my gf off this morning and i see these xenon lights flying up behind me in the fog.....then wooosh past me and its 197 police car! Now iv never seen this before but it had sirens and the stripes and reflective gear, looked the real deal! I cant imagine anyone would make a replica but seriously i didnt think these existed!

It was just outside Nottingham , anyone else seen these??

Cops round walsall and west bromwich have BMW M5's and i have seen a fair few of these now both marked and unmarked.

Wouldn't like to try to outrun 1 of those in my clio, or anything else for that matter.

Must agree though pics of this 197 would be excellent.

Wrong! We have about 4 focus ST's, Range Rovers and all sorts in Guildford, was speaking to a guy in an ST one, he said that they are completely standard! Funny because when we saw him leave, he blasted it away and it was gutless! Just think of all the extra kit they have to carry also.

hmmmm i'm not too convinced by this to be honest. The 197 seems like the most unlikely police car, its a 3 door, doesnt hold a high top speed, isnt a good cruiser, and has a small boot. As a copper, you wouldnt be able to get any suspects in the back very easily. At best it could be a promo car (Hants police ran the 197 cup advert), but this doesnt sound right.

I do some work with Notts police, i'll be asking them to give me a guided tour when i next get to see them - and maybe even pics.
