197 won’t start after gearbox change

Right troops! Needing some ideas here.

Just refurbed my box and put it all back together. Car now won’t turn over.

It’s key card/push start. I only get ignition when I push the button.

I’ve tested the starter, it’s fine. I’ve also checked it’s getting 12vs and it is.

i've seen this problem mention on 1*2's . It was the earth strap from the gearbox not connected . Worth having a look at ?

These don’t run a box to chassis earth strap like 1*2

Need 12v at the exciter wire when you hit the button. Checked battery is ok and check you've not missed any of the battery connections.

Also check the exciter wire is actually on the starter as well.

It might not be the box to chassis earth (as mention the 197 doesnt have one) but they may have a loom to gearbox earth?

I had this problem also one of the wires to the starter I think it was the tiny one double check the wires to the starter if that take a get a jumper cable and earth it to the engine and body see if it starts if it starts it's a earth fault

It was the battery to box Earth. Thats the only earth onto the engine/box these have!
