FIAT Punto GT Turbo
1998 - R Registration
After finally nearing completion of my project car it is time for me to sell my Punto. I have owned it for nearly a year now after paying £2000 and its my most favourite and fun car I have owned.
When I recieved it it had just had full G-max lowering suspension set (-60mm), superchips chip (with Boost Gauge and boost controller), K&N Induction kit, cam belt and a major service. In the last year all 4 tyres have been renewed, front and rear brakes have had new discs and pads including hoses (the fronts have been uprated to OMP drilled and grooved) new ignition coil pack, new radiator (this month) new plugs, new HT leads, oil changed 4 months ago and HID Xenon bulbs. A full exhaust system has also been added, It started with just the back box as it was rusting so I got Powerflow to make me one which let a lot more Power be freed. I then also got a De-cat pipe which freed up even more power.
At the moment the car is set a 0.8 bar, which is the standard boost pressure, but because of the chip it can be ran upto 1.2 bar.
There is possibly more but I cannot remember. At the moment the car does have a few faults, hence the low price. The main problem is that once the turbo hits around 1 bar the engine stalls for a second, it doesn't do this all the time but its annoying when it does. I've spoke to my local and local Fiat garage and they both think it could be a sensor but as the car has been superchipped they could not do a diagnostics and tell me for certain. A couple of other problems are the front bumper has taken a hit from a pheasant and now has a crack in it a fog light came out although I do have the fog light still! Also there is a slight crack in the drivers side side skirt.
Interior is in very good condition, with only one cigarette burn on the backseat, I also bought new mats around November time. The car will not come with a CD player but the 6x9's and speakers will be left in.
The car does have high mileage and my 50 mile round trip to work everyday doesn't help drive it higher but in all honesty it has served me very well only having minor problems over the year. I would love to keep it but I cannot afford to run 2 cars. MPG on it is amazingly quite good it returns around 30mpg on an average run, has seen upto 35mpg on a trip to thorpe park with 4 passengers.
Viewing is recommended as I wouldn't want you to have higher expectations when bidding as if its in brand new condition, it is 10 years and does show it as most cars do.
