2.0 8 valve clio mk2 phase 2

  black 3 door clio 1.2 16v
hiya guys ,, i was offered a very low milage 2.0 8v laguna engine for my clio this morning .. very very cheap, i know then engine is in good condition etc , so i was wondering .. ive seen it done in a few mk1 clios , but how complicated is the wiring to fit my 1.2 16v loom ? or is it a straight plug and go ??

what mix of mounts should i use ? clio laguna ??
thanks

i am doing the same conversion mate. the engine mounts are the same but i am using a clio gearbox untill i can get my hands on a 2.0 box. u will need the laguna wiring harness and ecu and exhaust down pipe as it bolts on to the clio one from wer it meets the cat and thats it as you can use the clio drive shafts. i have uprated my brakes to the ones that are on the rsi and put some drilled and grooved discs and uprated pads on. i am eventually goin swap my rear axel for a one off of a valver as they are discs as well to help with stopping.its also a good idea to uprate the suspension for some stiffer shocks which i have done as well. dont no how modified ur clio is but am presuming its not totally standard. so its basically a case of uprating a few things such as brakes and swapping the wiring harness and engine so its not to complicated reali and then you should have a good sleeper especially if u keep the 1.2 badges on the side:D.

The 2.0 8v is only 115bhp its not worth it in a mk2 imo. Can you not do a 1*2 engine conversion, insurance etc will be similar as the 2.0 8v conversion. Also a 1*2 conversion will sell much better than a 2.0 8v conversion, tbh i can't see anyone buying a 2.0 8v conversion as its only 5 bhp more than a standard 1.6 16v and also only 20nm of torque.

  Shed.
Would hate to own an 8v engine tbh. I know i only own a 1.2 but christ, steady progression of power no thanks.

115 from a 2.0 is such pap mate.

Sort yourself an F7P (138 bhp MK1 16v) with everything. They are cheap engines of you can't afford an F7R.

would be a good torque monster for effortlessly driving quick but wont be that fast! would much rather do a 2.0 16v conversion but at the end of the day that costs a fair bit to do, but by the sounds of it this wont be too cheap either even if you are getting the engine cheap!
