Not really worth while as the 1.2 brakes are pretty damn impressive.

U can really hammer the standard brakes and they always feel sharp.

  Turbos.
Er, no they're not. Try braking 4 up. What brakes!

Unless you can find some brakes for dirt cheap then you may as well just do a pad and brake line upgrade. I went to 4 pots and the difference was immense. I wouldn't make it my first mod though.

To get 172 brakes to fit you need to make nw mounts up the hub mount bolt spacing is different.
The 1.2 brakes I find are great then again my car does seem unusal compare to the rest of the 1.2's etc I've driven. There the same brakes as fitted to the Williams and 1.8 16V and the whole Mk2 2 range uses the same Lucas calipers (although 16v_jon recons he's seem some early ones with the 239mm brakes).

If you want better brakes get some ds2500s and some decient fluid. However I recon they will wear calipers out quicker 4 pots ie Willwoods are a great upgrade but nowhere near as cheap but they'll stop you very well.

cheers guys think ill just keep the standard size.

as for the dynamique vs authentique question the 1.2 8v has 239mm (iirc) front disks where all the 16v cars (1.2, 1.4 and 1.6) have 259mm
