2.0 engine conversion

Right am going to look at a breaking 172 and if in my budget going to buy the engine, loom ect. For this to work do i need the original key from the 172 or get a key reprogrammed?

Another thing how easy does this engine slot it? Im not a n00b when it comes to mechanics and will have the help of alex (clio142) whos pretty clued up to. Anything that we should know about thats a major problem?

I think the looms need splicing together to get it to work on a mk2....you need the keys, UCH, decoder ring from the key barrel, ECU, interior and engine looms...

nah its easy peasy all plug and play if you get all looms ie engine, dash and depending on if the car you are transplanting to is a dynamique and 04 onwards it will need the rear and door looms also as they changed the connectors on the plugs


doors as easy as they sound are a effing nightmare to wire up with no wiring diagrams but doable as i did it

its all common sense really

if you had a complete 172 at your disposale and know the cars i reckon i could piss it in a day

Where abouts do you live? If all goes to plan monday, any chance of a helping hand? only thing im worried about is the wireing.

wirings easy enough to work out but yeah if you get stuck no worries

yeah got everything needed, all tools etc etc.

If i cant get the original key, does this mean ive got to get 1 recoded?
