I had my car on the rollers in november when i had my cams fitted and the result was 195.8bhp & 173.8 lbs

Heres the graph

So i went for another run today with a few of the lads which i organised. Bearing in mind it was a very hot day today i ran 180.1bhp & 152.8 lbs.

Heres the graph

My mods are

Exhaust with decat
Induction kit
Matched inlets
438 cams
Remap

I was expecting a tad more to be fair. The cars running fine.
I no nout about dynos lol so i thought i'd see what you lot think about it

I think the problem might be on the top one, where it says www.
had a feeling they'd be involved somehow.

I'm not saying they do this but it may surprise a lot of people.

Two completely different dynos , i think regardless of who mapped it etc they will read different it's not uncommon to see differences , friend of mine had a saph cosworth and saw 511bhp at one place , and 480bhp at another !

Weather also doesn't help being HOT as hell, obviously cold air is denser , therefore making the bang better ! Minor I know but makes a difference!

Yeah very true. Im not to disheartened with todays dyno. I expected 185 but weather certainly dident help lol

Take it another independent and see what they come out with , can guarantee the weather didn't help mate , don't be dishearten either way it's only a figure mate as long as it drives well :)

Ill take it for another run on a cooler day. Its only a figure but the car feels fine :)

I know some dynos have atmospheric correction on them. I.e they will allow for heat producing a lower output and give a higher readout. Same for it being cold, they'll read lower than it has done. So theory then means that it'll have read 180.1 on a cold day.

Or chances are the first dyno was meant to be higher to make you feel happier about your new parts!

Yeah for your own peace of mind but its just a figure ! Don't get sucked into the bhp battle mate not worth it imo it's makes what it makes as long as your happy and it drives well! As long as it feels as quick as It did happy days!

Yeah your right. It goes well enough
I think ill have it live mapped in the near future & see how i get on. But the old girls going alright lol

Plus if you take it to Mike @ S&MWM you can have it on Surrey Rolling Road's dyno. It's independent and Charlie is well respected!

Kyle - you know it makes sense, especially given some of the potentially worrying mapping issues seen on cars similar to yours, if you know what I mean. Checking the map would be at the very top of my things to do list!

hot air makes things alot worse also k-tec have huge fans blasting on their rolling road to get more power

The dyno should take into account if there is positive pressure in there and should be correcting the final figure based on both that and ambient temperature.

So in theory at least, hot or cold, high pressure or low pressure, shouldnt matter much as the dyno does its best to take that into account.

(assuming its well operated on the day, if a dyno operator wants your car to have more power it will, end of!)
