2001 172 clio running rough

just had some small work done on me car,had to take engine out.whilst it was out my mechanic put a new cambelt on,whilst locking the cams off he said the front cams were slightly out he adjusted them to the same as the other one.
it also had a a 182 manifold fitted and de-cat
the car was running fine befor the donkey came out
does any one know if the front cams are set slightly different to the other.
we have had the computer hooked up to it and all it says prob with speedo sensor, but i new that anyway
any ideas would be great???????????

i wouldnt trust most little garage's mate!
your better of going to a renault dealer or a renault specialist for stuff like that! iirc someone mentioned offset cams what ever that is! hope you sort it mate.

depends if he used the correct tool did he lock the crank? the cams should be level when the correct tool locked in place but you can have them upside down so to speak as the cut out in the cam is not in the middle it should have smaller bit top and bigger bit bottom. big tops little bottoms i say

yeh he locked the crank,he is havin a chat to his mate who works at renault in warrington

Sounds like evn using the tools he's done it wrong its not impossible to do it wrong even with the right tools.

The cams won't be out sounds like he's "fixed" them in the wrong setting.
