Yeah I can get into it no problem but I can't see from looking at it how to fit the actual air filter to the open part that sits right beside the head. It seems to be securely fitted in place with a huge gaping rectangular hole and all air filters seem to need a circular pipe to be attached to.
I'm hopeless with cars. It really has to be a description for dummies!!
a specific air filter will come with the adapter plate. this screws onto the base (rectangular) then this braches out into a pipe to which you can connect the air filter.
once you've purchased your induction kit it really will be obvious how it goes on
Awesome Middo. Really looking forward to finally spending a little money on this thing! Wouldn't mind it looking just a little less standard! There are specific air filters for clios which come with these base plates or you buy the base plates separate?
That induction kit is a pretty interesting offer Rossy.. Only slight problem is probably that i'm in northern ireland. I think you're probably right Martin about the model of the clio.... It's june 2001 and the engine bay looks pretty identical to what the picture shows. Lots of guys have been tellin me I should have had a nice chunky back box on her a long time ago. That I wouldnt have to chop at anything and it wouldn't affect the emissions too much. I've never touched the engine at all since I got it from new and recently whipped off the air filter just to hear what kind of natural sound the car had and I have to admit it was pretty sweet!
Thanks for all the replies. Rossy lemme know just how far away you are from here. If it's too far to consider postage, lemme know what model the induction kit was. I'm in central northern ireland.
Im in kent which is a bit of a bugger but i can't imagine postage would be a great deal its only across a bit of water. I'll look into it and let you know. Would you be interested in apurchase if the postage is ok?
would love to see a picture of the merchandise and yeah my student loan is coming in next week so a purchase is definitely very possible!!! LOL
God bless the Student Loans Company.
So yeah hit me with the postage, a picture and how you would like to be paid and we can definitely arrange something. Reason for selling??
I notice from your posts that your car is a Clio 172, this Ik is for a 1.2 16v have i got this thread right you want an ik for the 1.2 16v yes?
Its being sold because both mine and my brothers clios have ceased to exist (damn foreign lorry drivers) and neither of us own a renault anymore. So we have two to sell although mine has been provisionally sold and this one is his. It's around 18 months old, can send you a pic by email (let me know what it is) as i cant seem to get it to post on here. Still unsure about the postage trying to work out if the normal post office will send it or if it has to be courier.
I'm not sure if it's a 172, i'll assume it is... the engine bay is identical to the one shown above in Martin_89's pic. With the stupid lump of plastic which never stays on... I have to admit she's never given me much bother... Appart from when I hit around 70k miles.. Had to take it to get the Injection computer reprogrammed. She was just stopping on her own at road ends and such unless I rev'd the s**t out of her! Then the steering would go dead and I would be rolling along powerless to stop or steer. But appart form that she's all good!! yeah send the pic to Eardley-S@ulster.ac.uk. Thanks.
Unless you have mistaken the engine on your car it wont be a 172 as they are 2.0 litre beauties. I've emailed you the pictures of the IK will try and find out about postage soon, its difficult when you work all day then when you finish the Post Office ahuts, never mind ill do my best.
Yeah it's not a 172 I know this... I forgot to change the "my car" bit on the registration page... Still looking for were to change it. Filter looks cool. Lemme know as soon as you know what postage would be!
