20v clio

Thought id post up my 20v clio up, see what sort of response i get then can do a little build thread when i rebuild over the next few weeks. So back in early December i decided i was going to do another vag convertion. After a few weeks of looking i ended up with a 05 1.2 clio and a 03 golf gti. And after a couple of months later it was ready.

So with convertion complete. I headed to pod for fast show. That turned out to be a fail rained all day. So just spun the tyres the entire trip.

So after the trip and seeing what the car can do i decided to change a few bits to try make the clio a bit more stable. So changed the tyres and springs. Was much better on the road. But was still spinning on full boost

Now about the engine. When i first started the build the golf was fitted with a agu lump. Once i had finished the loom i was able to test fire. Started fine. After switching off i checked engine bay and noticed cambelt had a big groove init so stripped it down to change belts and water pump. So now with the engine having a full service and cambelt and water pump it was time to start on exaust and drive shafts. After making downpipe i started it to hear a nock on the bottem end. Oil pick up was blocked. 2 days prior to this i had listed a fully forged aum on ebay so took the add off and fitted that. Finished exaust and shafts and am now left with this.

So spec list. Fully forged aum. Maxspeeding rods, king bairings, arp rod bolts, new genuine pistons, k03s/k04 hybrid, 360cc dekas,creative motorsport oversized tip, 3 inch maf, forge quick shift, ecs race valve. boosting 23psi. Did 225bhp on the rollers again struggling for grip.

Excellent. Must catch a good few people out. Any info on the difficulties with the conversion?

Will it MOT like that without the front slam panel? If you're tracking it, id look in to fitting a strut brace or something to give the front end some added rigidity.

Its a very simple convertion if im honest. Engine is a nice fit. Slam pannel is there just behind the intercooler.

Ah I see now from that picture. Looks like a great fit. Was the wiring simple enough?

I thought this pic was the finished engine bay pic:

and wondered why you had no slam panel or radiator lol. My mrs has a 20v 1.8T Polo GTI with a few mods and a stage 2 revo map and it's stacks of fun. It would be superb in a modded clio chassis!

Wiring isnt to bad. I make my own custom loom adaptors. Have just sold a convertion package to a guy on the facebook group. To be honest the engines are crap in standard chassis but with lightness of a clio makes it a awsome toy

Prefer it with the standard rims though,sleeper.
Was like driving on space savers with standard wheels. Currently on oz f1s with dunlop semi slicks but wanting to change to a more oem wheel like a 16 steel or somthing.

Yeah i get why you've changed them, 16" steels would be bob on [emoji106]

Im not to sure yet. Possibly sell if the right offer comes. Other than that i need to sort handling out. Coilovers, rear arb, bigger brakes. Make the power more usebul

Started the strip down today. Even tho cars been running sound. its needs a few upgrades. And a few bits can be reworked to hopfully tidy up the bay.

Seeing cars like that scares me - what if you get to the end of rebuilding and have a handful of washers left? lol
Id be going over to find out what there off. I get a bit paranoid over the bolts always use nylock and loctite when i can. Car has like x3 the factory power last thing i need is somthing comming loose. When doing high speed
