my brother had something similar with a VW Passat, it never worked right from day one. The dealership ended up buying it back off him but he lost a fair amount on it (he had done quite a bit more than 2200 miles though).

the car is obviously not 100% after they've worked on it and they are just trying to fob you off.........w**kers.

Good luck with getting it sorted.

What happens if Renault technical department don't want to look at it, have you decided what route you'd go down, either trade in or legal?

update on this, car went back into dealership. bonnet now fits, exhaust still blows, car still pulls all over the road, car is extremely dangerous under hard braking, lurches massively to the left snatching the wheel from your hand, passengers side disc has a big lip on both sides, drivers is like new.

surely this indicates a brake biasing problem rather than a tracking issue? Sould almost like the N/S brake is being applied all the time and then when you brake its casuing it to break more than the drivers side, thus it pulls to the left? Maybe they just need bleeding or one of the pipes has been pinched going to the drivers side? Would explain why the ESP light keeps coming on...

That's appalling mate.

Renaultsport models are marketed and sold on their capability and heritage. They're just hiding behind the fact that it's a road car.

It's no longer 'fit for purpose' if it has the faults you've mentioned.

Iv not read the whole thread, have you offered to take the manager out to show the issues or is he relying on the work they have done in w.shop?

cheers for the support guys, just to answer a few questions briefly im on my phone.... ar behaves its self under braking on road most of the time its the 70mph+ situations so dealership struggle to replicate the fault. I agree its a brake hydraulic issue not all down to the tracking however this is still an issue for me, the cars not as pin point as it should be and its eating its tyres. Not sure what route to go down if technical are not interested, legal sound stressful and expensive, trade in is no hastle but expensive and fixing it myself with a garage i trust isnt right i shouldnt have to but it solves my problems!! Sorry for the lack of paragraphs my badass nokia doesnt let me press enter lol

Has nobody a bit senior from the RenaultSport forum not been in touch? Tried Jeremy Townsend?

Not good publicity for them at all.

  Shit little Yaris...
Dealerships are glorified back street garages. So annoying too because you'll only find 1 or 2 places that'll actually give a crap about your car.

Cnuts.

RUK are scrotums.

They phoned me up to arrange something for my 200 and I told them I sold the car and got an Audi as their customer serivice is appalling. The girl on the phone was genuinley speechless LOL.

its got to the point now that im booking it into progrip in larbert to have all the front end geometry points removed and refitted and aligned 100% perfect. ordering a set of DS2500's all round for it and ill also get progrip to strip all the brakes off it, clean and service them, fit them all back on with a fresh fluid change and that will be me stress free but out of pocket! but atleast it will sorted

plus now that ive realised warranty means ZERO when you cant trust the garages offering it, i may as well go back to my old days of modifying! Akrapovic anyone? :D

i love the car just the bad experiance so far has been terrible but its time to get the car back to the way it should be and enjoy it!

Good for you if thats what you are happy to do mate, we live and learn.

Making me think twice about ever buying a new Renault tbh!

You should make RUK aware that you have updated at least 2 forums with every update, maybe just a link to the service manager for this thread and your login details would be an eye-opener!

I just think this is the best way out for you, the least bad outcome. Someone over on RS suggested getting this work done but at the same time logging the work minutely and then presenting the dealer with the bill and the log of work and the threat of action but most of all you need to get this finished for you.

Definitely the best way out.

However, at the end of the day, it's the principle of how Arnold Clark and Renault have treated you, and I don't think you're going to be able to get anything out of them without a very long winded process that in the end probably won't be worth it. Even a sorry may suffice.

yeah thats it, at the end of the day ive had 7 clios the chances are if the new mk4 RS is going to be as good as it should be ill be having a few of them too and i wont be going anywhere near Arnold Clark for one, so its them that loose out in the end! not that they really care, a customer is nothing to them.

just need to put it down to bad experiance

Can't you get a full report from Progrip saying the alignments fucked? Then present that to Renault with the bill for the work?

It can't hurt to do this.

Least you've got to a situation where you're happy to do this. You will probably have a LOT more fun with it now you're giving them a big f**k you.

ive got a report showing the full alignemnt is fucked, renault say, no it isnt. because there basic machine shows camber and caster is within tollerance.

progrip say its fucked, renault say its not. i know who i trust however what do you do?!?! just want it sorted now.

cheers for the comments on the pic guys, doesnt seem to be much love for Albi but i love it, struggles to photo well.

Take it to Renault Sport track day, let an instructor drive it, then when he say's wtf is up with this, get it sorted that way. I would have driven it into Renault by now and just kept screaming, until I got arrested.

i was considering getting in touch with knockhill and seeing if i could get anyone who any resonable person would be able to assume understands how a car reacts under braking to do a few laps and write a report on it, but as i mentioned on the RS forum, i work 6 to 7 days a week every week 60+ hours and i just genuinely dont have the energy to fight this anymore, its been over 3 months now.

i was out with my mate lastnight who also has a 200 and we done some back to back testing, obviously having massive brakes, stiff suspension, low profile tyres and un eaven roads, under hard braking the cars do get light at the rear and can wobble from side to side a bit but if anything this gives you a bit of adjustment to set it up for a bend, this is nothing like that, this ends up fishtailing towards a bend. you just cant drive it quickly on the road or you will end up smashing!

genuinely lost for words from what i heard today!

so as i said a few days back, dealership agreed on friday to try and get "renault technical" involved to get to the bottom of the problem since the garage couldnt find the cause.

got a call today saying the garage has been instructed by there area manager not to get renault involved since the garage were confident there was no problem (basically making out that im imagining a problem)

so as far as im concerned thats me finished with arnold clark, i will never set foot in any of their dealerships again, our family business have been using arnold clark for 25 years to supply driving school cars and have had 10 clios/twingos from this same dealer in the last 10 years, we are going to use Ness motors in Perth, an hours drive, about 45 miles away purely to avoid arnold clark (and they are supposed to be a decent dealership - an RS "specialist" too)

i am genuinely stunned by this full situation, you usually hear bad press about arnold clark all the time and assume that yeah they are idiots but at the same time probably have a lot of customers who are idiots too who think its arnold clarks fault that they got a basic service and now the handbrake cable has snapped etc but this is a genuine case of them "destroying" my car during warranty work, taking no interest in correcting it due to having no experiance with the technical side of a car they sell and un interested arrogant staff.

As a manager in retail i deal with some members of the public who are stressed out by situations, not happy with what their issue is, yet i bend over backwords to help every single one of them no matter how bad my day is, no matter if i finished 5 hours ago and am still in the building, if a customer who buys 1 pack of chewing gum a week decides never to come back when i had it within my power to make them leave happy then ive not done and dont deserve my job. Without customers none of us have jobs.

Surely RUK can overide what the Stealership say?

S

dealership told me any further issues call renault uk get them to deal with it. but where does it go from there? back to another dealership?

RUK are not interested in the car, they think its arnold clarks problem due to them doing the work on it, RUK were only interested when the engine initially failed as it was their issue.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
Sell it- It will go nowhere through Renault as you cannot comprehensively prove that its broke- or at least broke to the point of T&C's for handing it back

Coming from someone who has worked for VW for 13 years, if I were in your shoes I would go to Renault UK - state that they advertise the car saying you (As a customer) are able to drive the car on 'Offical' Renaultsport track days, and the car is now not fit for that purpose - state that you are willing to assist in this investigation into how your car went in for repairs with no issues, but has come out with issues - suggest to Renault you will go with them to a Renaultsport track day, and one of the instructors can take you and then the Renault representative out in the car to highlight the possible faults as msot of the faults are when the car is being drive enthusiastically - if they refuse then say you will look at contacting trading standards, watchdog and the press - I guarrantee you they will sit up and take notice.

How many miles has it done and why are you fitting all those parts?

I'd do what Russ said.
