255 V6

Hi guys,

I currently own a T-Sport Corolla and had decided that I would consider changing it for a Renault Sport Megan 225 if it went as good as it looked, I was invited to a ride and drive at Duxford last Saturday where I drove one and thought It was the nuts. The brakes were stunning and it went like there was no tomorrow much like my current T-Sport. Mind made up I wanted one, but people were also taking out the 255 V6, which I just had to have a go in! This is were the problem is I LOVED IT and cant stop thinking of anything else, it blew every other car away I have ever driven. I cant afford a new one at £27,100 but what is the mk1 like I know it only has 230BHP but can this be up easily to nearer the 250BHP mark, and is it not nearly as good as the 255 like all the magazines say? Just I could afford up to around £18,000 and that could get a nice mk1 v6! Any thoughts

£15,000 will get you a very nice MK1 V6 There are plenty on Autotrader at the moment.

I have in front of me a quotation for a NEW MK2 V6 for £23,661 standard car with no id.paint or trim options.

I went in to my local Renault dealer the other day asking to drive a 225 Megan Sport and the chap told me that there was a ride and drive day at duxford if I was interested in going which I did! And they had the 255 and the 182 there aswell!

Thanks for sorting me out this link. , it was most useful! I will keep you posted on what happens! I was planning on ordering a Megan 225 this weekend but now this 255 Clio has got me hooked so it will be a few more months saving. My current car is pushing just over 200BHP, so the Clio with be much more of a jump up than the Megan anyway!

The mk2 V6 is a lot different from the mk1, a whole different car really.

Yes I do use Type-R.org & civictype-r.co.uk a bit as I was considering buying one a while back.

No probs Nick... just incase your interested..I just got off the phone from David @ k-tec as Im after a few bits .. but, he has just purchased a Megan 225 as a new project car. So you may like to speak to him before making up ur mind on the V6.. u might find they can get it up to 250bhp easy enough and save u a few quid.

But, if it was my money... MK2 V6 has no competition. (unless u want a car for more track days...then the VX220 Turbo) Good luck.
